Before I am labelled insensitive to the victims of the Coronavirus, let me say that I am just as concerned as everyone else and would like nothing more than to see this scourge end immediately! No one is immune to this and hopefully life will get back to normal with the limited amount of deaths and injuries.
Even with tragedies such as Sept 11, 2001, there will be those businesses and industries that suffer, although there will be some that flourish. The airlines have been decimated during this crisis just as they did on 9/11. Bars and Restaurants around Europe, the UK, US, Asia and elsewhere are also getting hit hard. Any places where people gather, such as sporting events and concerts, are being cancelled and suspended until further notice.
How are Hospitality Businesses being Affected by the Coronavirus?
As you might imagine, places such as land-based Casinos as well has towns such as Las Vegas have lost close to 75% of their business. This number does not take into account how much they will lose when they are forced to close by law. Unless your life revolves around getting the best deals for a trip to Vegas, I can’t imagine wanting to spend time in a casino or hotel with a bunch of strangers. But who knows you could have the whole casino and hotel to yourself, just like in the movie “The Shining.”
As of writing this on March 18, 2020 many of the Casinos in Vegas and elsewhere have closed or are contemplating closing. I cannot see any benefit of staying open if this continues. The hospitality industry will no doubt be the worse hit along with the airlines.
Will there be Industries that Benefit from the Coronavirus?
With people quarantined and shops, restaurants and bars closed, most will look to the Internet for some type of solace. Netflix, Apple TV, Amazon and I’m sure the Porn sites will be seeing an increase in traffic. And if you happen to enjoy online gambling, then this is the perfect time to hone your skills and try to win some money online.
Whether you are an experienced player or new to Online Gambling, it’s a great way to spend your time and make some money. There is also the benefit of Free Play which most online casinos offer. Save for the Jackpots, Free Play is exactly the same as Real Money play and can be played for a long as you wish.
If you decide to go for the Real Money option, we suggest that you do establish limits to the amount of time you play and how much money you are able/willing to spend. Although in most cases you are forced to stay at home because of Quarantine or because of limits on going to the office, it is incumbent upon each person to limit their play. This is not a license to go nuts, but an opportunity to try something new and exciting.
These are strange and unprecedented times for all of us. While there is the urge to go somewhat “crazy” we need to keep things in perspective and realize that this soon shall pass. Too much of anything can be unhealthy, so if you do decide to sign-up at an online casino like Uptown Pokies and FairGO and play for real money, do so responsibly!
